This Privacy Policy explains how TEKs Pvt Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when merchants install or use TEKs - Upsell Bundles (the “App”) with their Shopify store.

Who this policy applies to

This policy applies to Shopify merchants (store owners and authorized staff) who install or use the App. Where the App processes customer-related data from a merchant’s Shopify store, the merchant is generally the controller of that customer data and we act as a service provider/processor to the merchant, depending on applicable law and the merchant’s configuration.

Information we collect

We may collect the following categories of information:

• Merchant/account information: name, email address, store URL, Shopify store identifiers, plan status, and app configuration.
• Shopify store data: data accessed through Shopify APIs/webhooks depending on approved scopes, which may include products, variants, collections, orders, and discounts needed to provide app features.
• Customer-related data processed through Shopify: limited customer/order data that may be necessary to show offers, measure conversion, or attribute revenue (for example, order IDs, cart contents, or customer identifiers). We aim to minimize customer data access.
• Usage/device/log data: app usage events, timestamps, IP address, browser/device information, and diagnostic logs.
• Communications/support information: messages you send to us, attachments, and information you provide during support requests.

How we collect information

• Directly from merchants: when you submit forms, configure settings, or contact support.
• From Shopify APIs and webhooks: when you install/use the App and Shopify sends data we are authorized to access.
• Automatically through app usage: when you interact with the App, we may collect usage and log data.

How we use information

We use information to:

• Provide and maintain the App: enable bundles, offers, reporting, and core functionality.
• App functionality and configuration: save settings, apply offer rules, and render widgets where configured.
• Support and troubleshooting: respond to requests, investigate issues, and fix bugs.
• Billing and account administration: manage plan status and billing-related events (including via Shopify Billing API where applicable).
• Security and legal compliance: detect abuse, prevent fraud, and comply with lawful requests.
• Service improvement and analytics: understand feature usage and improve performance (using aggregated or de-identified data where possible).

Shopify-specific data access and scopes

The App’s access to Shopify store data depends on the permissions (API scopes) granted by the merchant during installation and any later updates. We aim to request only the scopes necessary to deliver the features you enable. If you do not grant a scope, certain features may not function.

Data sharing and disclosure

We may share information in the following situations:

• Service providers: with vendors who help us operate the App (e.g., hosting, logging, analytics, email), under confidentiality and security obligations.
• Legal obligations: if required by law, regulation, legal process, or valid governmental request.
• Business transfers: if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets. We will use reasonable efforts to provide notice where required.
• Sale of data: We do NOT SELL personal information as defined by applicable law.

Data retention

We retain information for as long as needed to provide the App and for legitimate business purposes, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. Our standard retention period is: Merchant data is retained only as long as necessary to provide the services and meet legal obligations. Data is typically deleted within 30 days after a merchant uninstalls the app unless retention is required for security, fraud prevention, or billing purposes.

Data security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

International transfers

We may process and store information in countries other than the merchant’s country. Where required, we take steps to provide appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.

Merchant rights and choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or portability of certain information. To make a request, contact us at contact@technologyenthusiastknights.com. We may need to verify your authority to act for the Shopify store.

Customer privacy requests

Merchants are generally responsible for responding to customer requests regarding customer data in their Shopify store. If a merchant asks us for assistance with a customer request (for example, deletion of app-generated records), we will help where technically feasible and where the request relates to data processed by the App.

Uninstall and deletion

Uninstalling the App from Shopify will stop the App from accessing store data through Shopify. Some data may remain in our systems for the retention period described above (for example, logs or records needed for support, billing, or legal compliance). Merchants can request deletion by emailing contact@technologyenthusiastknights.com with the store URL and request type.

Cookies and analytics

We may use cookies or similar technologies for authentication, security, and analytics. Where required, you can control cookies through your browser settings. We aim to use analytics in a way that supports service improvement and troubleshooting.

Children’s privacy

The App is intended for business use by merchants and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and update the effective date.
